4Ever Yours is a small but dedicated rescue organization committed to saving dogs with medical needs from less-than-ideal situations and giving them the second chance they deserve. Our mission goes beyond rescue—we provide quality medical care, rehabilitation, and safe haven for dogs who might otherwise be overlooked.
Recently, we moved to a larger location, allowing us to expand our services and add a sanctuary specifically for permanently disabled dogs. Many of the dogs we take in require urgent and ongoing medical treatment, which we ensure they receive before they are adopted into loving homes or welcomed into our sanctuary.
As a 501(c)(3) non-profit, we rely almost entirely on adoption fees and generous donations to operate. Unfortunately, the cost of medical intake often far exceeds what adoption fees can cover. Every surgery, treatment, and rehabilitation session is made possible because of donors who believe in our mission. Without this support, many of these dogs would not have the chance to heal and thrive.
In addition to caring for medical dogs, we are committed to:
We take a personalized approach to the adoption process, carefully matching each dog with an adopter who can meet their unique needs. This allows for stronger bonds, happier adoptions, and lasting forever homes.
Key Message: All dogs deserve loving 4ever homes—and with your help, we can continue to provide medical care, rehabilitation, and sanctuary for those who need us most.
I was born and raised in a very humble town in New Delhi, India where street dogs are in abundance. My love for animals started at a very young age. Dogs were not allowed inside the home, so I would do my best to care for them outdoors. When trucks would come to my neighborhood to pick up the stray dogs, other kids would quickly come and get me so that I could round up as many dogs as I could. I would always do my best to hide them in my yard.
In the 1980s I began to understand the fate of these dogs was death. I was a rebel with a cause; I began rebelling against my parents and society. My passion for saving these dogs was pure. The unconditional love they gave is something that drove me even more to do whatever it took to keep them safe. Maybe it was the inner child in me that hungered for that unconditional love. I got bit multiple times and took rabies shots bravely - but nothing was ever going to deter me from trying to keep them safe.
I moved to the United States in early 2000. I didn’t see any street dogs like I did in my country. For many years I took a back seat to my crusade of saving them, but I yearned to have a dog and feel that love that I had felt while saving them in New Delhi.
In 2012 I met my husband Walt, and we adopted a dog from Front Street Animal Shelter. We named her Sugar Momma. She was my first introduction to the shelter life. We saw a need for these dogs and instantly decided to foster for the shelter. Over the years we fostered and adopted out countless dogs for the shelter. Each dog brought a new challenge and experience. I became the foster coordinator for a local rescue group and soon realized the difference between a rescue and a shelter. I learned a lot from both experiences. I also learned the best practices that would give these dogs the best chance and keep them safe. I wanted to start my own rescue but decided to keep my dreams on the back burner till I retire.
In 2016 my husband was in a near fatal motorcycle accident and lost his left leg. He suffered multiple injuries to his right leg and had a traumatic brain injury. This was the darkest time we have endured in our life. We realized that people that were once close to us were no where to be found. All we had left was each other and our dogs. I was making $3000 a month and no aid was available to us anywhere. I was also told that if I divorced my husband, he would get the in-home care that he so desperately needed.
The dark desperation I felt and yearning to have my husband get the care he needed truly made me consider it. However, I knew my husband would never agree to it. I began desperately looking for additional income. I started working 2 jobs. Every day I would leave for work, I would leave my husband with a baby monitor right next to our dog Sugar Momma. Every morning I would tell her, “You take care of Daddy for me.”
In 2018, I lost my job as an IT Analyst and that’s when I knew I had to take a big leap of faith. I knew I needed to run my own rescue on my own terms, so I started Sugar Momma’s Rescue aka 4ever Yours Rescue Inc, 501C3 Non profit. Since the inception of my rescue and both working full time, we have rehabilitated and rehomed nearly 100 dogs every year from high kill shelters and owner surrenders. Our efforts include helping homeless dogs with food, medical needs and spay and neuter. Every donated dollar goes towards the animals in need and their care.
2022 has been monumental year since we are taking in a lot of special needs and dogs in need of urgent medical care. To date we have helped 34 dogs in need of urgent medical care, plus other adoptable dogs. I stand by in providing the best medical care to all the dogs that come through my rescue. I do not know the past of these dogs and what they have endured but I pledge and promise to change their lives forever.
All our dogs are fully vetted. All dogs more than five years of age get dentals. Our adoption process includes adoption application, phone interview, reference checks and home checks. We fully back our dogs during their life, beyond adoption. We also understand that not all adoptions may work out, so we will take our dogs back, should these circumstances arise. I take a lot of pride in the hard work and love I pour into my rescue. Our dogs live in loving foster homes while getting ready and prepared to transition into their forever homes. Bringing normalcy to these broken souls gives them a better chance. I am grateful for the support of my husband, the veterinarians that work with my rescue, the shelters and my Board of Directors. Most importantly, I am grateful for the dogs that have touched my life and have shown me that we are never alone, and we are always loved.
In the words of Robert Frost, “The woods are lovely dark and deep but I have promises to keep and miles to go before I sleep and miles to go before I sleep.”
Rescue is never ending.

Anubis and Fatty Patty aren’t just a gorgeous pair of 3-year-old Italian Mastiffs – they’re real-life heroes. As blood donor dogs, they’ve already saved 11 lives and are ready to keep helping others in need.
Blood donor dogs are special canines who give blood—just like humans do—to help other dogs survive surgery, accidents, or serious illnesses. Their donations can mean the difference between life and death for a dog in crisis, providing vital blood transfusions when time is critical.
Anubis and Fatty Patty’s gentle nature, calm temperament, and healthy lifestyle make them ideal donors. Each pint they give has the power to help multiple dogs, bringing hope to families and saving precious lives.
These siblings remind us that heroes come in all shapes and sizes—and sometimes, they walk on four paws.
